Full course description

Adults with ADHD frequently experience executive functioning deficits that hinder self-regulation and heighten anger. This presentation examines how inattention, difficulty initiating tasks, dysregulation when tasks lack stimulation, and time blindness result in uncompleted tasks and recurring frustration, often internalized as self-directed anger. Using evidence-based interventions, the workshop integrates parts work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), metacognitive approaches, somatic work, and the constraint-led approach to provide clinicians with a comprehensive toolkit. Attendees learn strategies to recognize and understand their clients’ symptoms, develop effective coping skills, and improve organization and environmental modifications. Overall, clinicians gain practical tools to help clients lead more balanced and fulfilling lives, resulting in lasting change.

Participants who fully participate this course will be able to:

  • Recognize and understand their clients' symptoms before, during, and after episodes, enhancing mindfulness.
  • Develop effective coping skills to address emerging symptoms and improve emotional regulation.
  • Enhance organizational skills and modify environments to reduce distractions and improve task completion.
  • Equip clinicians with practical, evidence-based tools to support clients in managing ADHD-related dysregulation and anger.
