Instructor-Led 2-Day Intermediate/Clinical Level Exam Prep Course (Oct. 2026)

Held October 7-8, 2026 via Zoom

9 am - 4 pm (12 CEUs)

In this updated course, students are taught the necessary skills to successfully prepare for the licensing exam following changes that went into effect August 3, 2026. Helpful tips will guide students toward concentrating their preparation in areas helpful to success. Handouts include practice test questions and answers that will help students develop confidence to take the exam. Students are taught the necessary skills to prepare for the DSM-5-TR section of the licensing exam. There are intensive reviews of major topics with particular attention to assessments, interventions, values, and ethics. Handouts and practice tests for the LMSW and LCSW exams are included. Students develop the necessary confidence to take the exam.

Upon concluding this course, participants will be able to:

• List the values and standard areas in the NASW code of ethics.
• List the primary concepts for at least 3 different theories of psychosocial development.
• List at least 3 theoretical frameworks for direct social work practice with individuals, families, and groups.

Karen Sullivan, LCSW-S, RPT-S, EMDR Approved Consultant, is a graduate of UH – GCSW.  She began her career as a caseworker and supervisor at CPS in  Sexual Abuse units.  She then worked as a therapist at advocacy centers in both Harris and Fort Bend Counties. In the last 14 years of private practice, Karen continues to specialize in trauma, grief, sexual assault, and attachment.  She frequently testifies on these matters in both civil and criminal courts.
